This week saw the formal welcoming of new Rockstar Games hires to Absurd Ventures. Meanwhile, we learned that the studio’s first projects’ trademarks had been leaked. With the official release of American Caper and A Better Paradise, the band will no longer be playing hide-and-seek with us.
Among others, Dan Houser formed Absurd Ventures, a business that purports to concentrate on producing video games, movies, television shows, animated series, audio books, and comic books/graphic novels. The creator of the Grand Theft Auto series continues to work for the new firm, and he has asked other seasoned Rockstar Games professionals to join him.
Dan Houser has a great deal of expertise and recognition in the field. It’s also worth mentioning that he can persuade some of his colleagues to share his vision, which piques interest in what the team is really working on.
The company reacted to the latest leak and announced that it is creating American Caper and A Better Paradise. We even received production logos that, to some extent, fit the style of graphics used by Rockstar Games to announce their titles.
However, Absurd Ventures will not only create games, the best examples of which are the above-mentioned items – “American Caper” is a comic book, and “A Better Paradise” is an audio series.
AMERICAN CAPER focuses on two normal, very damaged American families in a world of corrupt business, incompetent politics and brutal crime. AMERICAN CAPER will debut as a graphic novel illustrated by renowned comic book artist Simon Bisley.
A BETTER PARADISE is an existential thriller set in the near future. Currently, work is underway on a 12-episode audio series based on the A BETTER PARADISE universe. Absurd Ventures is partnering with @QCODEmedia to co-produce the audio series.
Absurd Ventures, as a media group, will most likely create a universe based on non-game projects. “American Caper” and “A Better Paradise” will debut in 2024.
