Capcom‘s most recent countdown has ended, and the company has confirmed that Street Fighter 6 is in development, as rumored. Ryu, a series mainstay, is featured in the teaser trailer below, along with Luke, who was recently added to Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition as part of the Season 5 Character Pass. Take a look at the video below.
Make what you will of the footage in the video, as it portrays “a game still in production.” However, more information will be released this summer, so stay tuned. Over the last few years, rumors have circulated that a sequel is in the works. It was supposed to be out in 2021, but development issues (which led to the departure of series producer Yoshinori Ono) forced a postponement.
No release window or platforms have been announced. According to reports, the game will be released for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC (as opposed to Street Fighter 5 which was exclusive to PS4 and PC). More information will be released later this summer.
