Starting in June, we’ll be inundated with new information and announcements about forthcoming games like A Plague Tale: Requiem from all corners of the industry, with the summer months being the time of year when developers and publishers prefer to provide new information about their projects. Summer Game Fest is planned to return in June, and the Tribeca Film Festival will also be returning under the umbrella of the Summer Game Fest. The complete lineup for the latter event has already been confirmed.
Tribeca will host nine games this year, with a number of standouts among the diverse roster of offerings. A Plague Tale: Requiem is one of these titles. Since their last appearance at The Game Awards in December, Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment has spoken little about the game, but they did release a Collector’s Edition for it in February, and small gameplay information have just emerged as a result of leaked Achievements. The game is scheduled to premiere in 2022, and a firm release date is expected to be announced soon.
Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, which has been in development for quite some time, will also be on hand at the Tribeca Festival. This extension to the Cuphead video game was first announced in 2018, and it has since been postponed numerous times, first from 2019 to2020 and then from 2020 to 2021, before eventually being given a release date of June 30, 2022, last year.
The sequel to Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals, which is now in development at Night School Studio, which was acquired by Netflix in September of last year, is also included in the roster. A number of other games, including the recently announced American Arcadia, As Dusk Falls, Immortality, The Club, Thirsty Suitors, and Venba, are slated to be showcased at the festival.
There will be more of the aforementioned games on display during the Tribeca Games Spotlight, which will take place on June 10 at 12 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, the Tribeca Festival will bring with it expanded demos of each of these games, so you can expect a slew of additional gameplay footage and details to be released in the coming weeks. There will be a 40-minute demo of A Plague Tale: Requiem, a 30-minute demo of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, and a 25-minute demo of Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals available.
