One of the games that will be shown at the Tribeca Games Showcase is titled A Plague Tale: Requiem, and spectators will have the opportunity to try out a demo of the game. A presentation with the development team that discusses the overall strategy for writing (such as organizing chapters as “episodes”) and characterization has been made available to everyone else. This presentation can be found on the website. It includes some new gameplay and scenes, but as it was captured during development, everything in it is “subject to change.”
The events of A Plague Tale: Requiem, the sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence, find Hugo and Amicia setting out on a brand new journey to the south. Despite the fact that this entails the expansion into exciting new places, rats that transmit the disease are still present on every corner. Amicia is still looking out for her brother, and despite the fact that she prefers to be stealthy, she has significantly improved her skills in combat this time around (even wielding a crossbow).
However, that is not all that the developer alludes to, as Amicia being able to use Hugo’s talents to manipulate the rats to their advantage is also hinted at by the developer. This year sees the release of A Plague Tale: Requiem on the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch (via the cloud). Keep an eye out for further information over the next few months.
