The developer of Blasphemous 2, developed by The Game Kitchen and published by Team17, is now available for purchase on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This release for older-gen consoles comes after the game was initially made available in August for the personal computer (PC), PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox One (X/S), and Nintendo Switch (NSW).
A new launch video for Blasphemous 2 has been released in celebration of the game’s release on Xbox One and PS4. The clip showcases some further examples of the game’s stunningly hideous pixel graphic style as well as the fast-paced action that was influenced in equal parts by Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and FromSoftware’s Souls games.
Players will once again take on the role of the Penitent One in Blasphemous 2, which picks up immediately after the conclusion of the Wounds of Eventide downloadable content for the first game. The Penitent One is once again trapped in an unending cycle of life and death, and it is up to him to discover answers since The Heart in the Sky has announced the return of The Miracle. However, he is currently in a state of perpetual limbo.
The game introduces a large number of new opponent types, along with new boss battles that have been built with just as much attention to detail as the encounters in the games that came before it.
