The latest data from Great Britain confirms the huge interest in games in digital distribution. Players are more and more willing to buy games from console manufacturers’ stores, which is clearly confirmed by the latest sales results.

Gamesindustry.biz has published the latest data from the UK market, which confirms that Final Fantasy XVI was the most-bought game for just one week. Square Enix’s title recorded as much as 78% worse sales compared to seven days and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom took advantage of the situation. Again, players were most likely to reach for the position available only on Nintendo Switch.

However, Christopher Dring confirms that Square Enix’s title may jump to the first place when the Japanese confirm the digital sales figures, as 56% of Final Fantasy XVI units were purchased via the PlayStation Store.

The editor-in-chief also confirmed a big curiosity – Diablo 4 is not included in the latest list, because players in the case of Blizzard’s title reached as many as 93% of copies for the version from digital distribution. Only 7% of units sold last week came from physical distribution.

AEW: Fight Forever had a good start (3rd place), but it is worth noting that even Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (7th place) was in the TOP 10 of the most-bought games.

Crash Team Rumble debuted at No. 15 last week, and has now fallen to No. 32 – 53% worse sales have meant that the title did not even make it into the top 30.

UK Game Sales (Physical Distribution, Week to July 1)

    1. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (2nd place last week),
    2. Final Fantasy 16 (1),
    3. AEW: Fight Forever (new),
    4. God of War Ragnarok (6),
    5. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe (7),
    6. FIFA 23 (10),
    7. Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (new),
    8. Hogwarts Legacy (9),
    9. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (4),
    10. Sonic Origins Plus (3).
