Techland has provided precise information about the most recent update of Dying Light 2. Players may now amputate each limb in three different locations, and this is only the start of the attractions the designers have planned.
Is Techland wary of rivalry? The Polish developer of Dying Light 2 publishes version 1.10, which enhances the fighting system, cruelty, and physics—basically the game’s most crucial components—one day before the release of Dead Island 2.
The studio has recently verified all of the improvements made by Blood Mess. According to the creators, the fighting has been much enhanced, and there are now “new variants of smashed heads” and “more severed limbs” on the list of revisions.
It’s difficult to avoid getting the idea that Techland responded to the Dead Island 2 premiere, which is intriguing given that the Polish company was responsible for developing this IP. Of course, as you are aware, the developers subsequently took care of establishing their own world.
Dying Light 2 Bloodbath Update (1.10.0)
Improvements to the combat system, including brutality and physics
- In this update, true to its name, we want to focus on combat and the brutality that comes with it. Kill with even more style and maim both infected and humans.
- Halve not only mutants, but also all other enemies.
- More severed limbs!
- Each limb can be severed in 3 places.
- Increased brutality when dealing damage to enemies (visible bones, ribs, eyeballs, etc.).
- Blood and Gut visual effects improvements.
- Players can now tear a piece of flesh from an enemy, leaving a hole in their flesh.
- “Blow the paint” takes on a literal new meaning by gutting your enemies.
- The new hit detection code is responsible for the reaction of enemies to weapon blows.
- New variants of smashed heads.
- Introduced domino physics, an effect that allows enemies to bump into each other if they are hit and pushed back with enough force.
- Improved body physics that will positively affect the immersion during the game.
- Added the ability to dismember enemies by colliding them with the environment.
- Improvements to rodents falling smoothly from great heights, including rooftops.
- Burning and electrocuting effects can spread between enemies.
- New hit reactions have been added and some existing ones have been improved.
Changing the look of clothes
- We know how important it is for you to have the best stats and look great. We decided to introduce the transmogrification feature, thanks to which you can kill enemies in your style! You will now change the style of most items of clothing using the new “Appearance” slot.
Crafting weapons
- To kill enemies in style, you need the right weapon. We know that due to the durability system, you often have to replace your favorite models with others, and we understand how difficult it is to get a new, good weapon. Weapon Crafting gives you full control over your loadout.
- You can craft weapons at… craftsmen (hooray!).
- To do this, however, you first need to find the blueprints that are in the city or offered as rewards. You can then see the ones you’ve already earned in the craftsman’s shop.
- IMPORTANT: Blueprints can be upgraded – the higher their level, the better quality weapons you can craft. This affects damage dealt, durability, mod slots, and traits.
- Traits, which are additional stats like “+20% damage vs. humans”, are randomized when crafting weapons, so good luck pilgrims!
- Crafting, as always, requires resources.
Introduction of the Pilgrims Asylum
- Pilgrims Asylum has arrived! This new community hub for Dying Light fans has long-awaited features. Visit pilgrimoutpost.com for the one-of-a-kind Spike. Activate contracts and complete them in-game to earn new pilgrim reputation points.
- They will allow you to gain new ranks of Pilgrim Reputation. Each subsequent one will give you more Pilgrim Tokens.
- You can spend them in the Armory, where exclusive weapons and outfits are available from the Pilgrims Asylum trader. We regularly refresh the offer of available items. Pilgrim Tokens can also be used to purchase a Refuge Drop that contains random resources and weapons. If you’re lucky, you might even be able to pick up one of five all-new pilgrim weapons exclusive to Haven.
- The more contracts you complete, the better gear you’ll earn. You can expect six exclusive contracts every week. If you manage to complete them all, you will receive additional reputation points.
In-game contracts
- For players who are hungry for new challenges, we have new weekly and daily contracts:
- Contracts become available only after completing the prologue.
- Contracts are divided into the following categories:
- Daily – one simple contract that changes daily.
- Weekly – One hard contract that you have a week to complete.
- Completing Daily and Weekly Contracts will earn you in-game rewards (such as Experience Points or Legend Points if you’re already leveling up Legends).
- For every 5 completed Daily or Weekly Contracts, you’ll receive an additional reward – a loot box that can contain amazing weapons and gear.
