Dying Light 2 Stay Human is due to launch in early February, and developer Techland has been posting various information on its Twitter account ahead of the launch. Just yesterday, Techland revealed the number of lines of dialogue in Dying Light 2.
Techland said earlier this month that Dying Light 2 will take 500 hours to complete. This statement surprised fans, and the company was forced to clarify the game’s actual length afterward. The primary story of Dying Light 2 will take roughly 20 hours to complete, and 500 hours will be required to complete everything, including exploring the entire world and viewing all of the endings. Techland has released a new trailer for Dying Light 2 on the PlayStation 5. It goes over the various graphical modes available on the PS5 version of the game.
The PS5 version of Dying Light 2 Stay Human will have 3 different graphics options. Quality Mode generally sets all in-game settings to high or above, and it will also feature ray tracing. Resolution Mode will run Dying Light 2 at 4K, although the video does not confirm if it runs at native or dynamic 4K. Lastly, Performance Mode will run at 60+ FPS, most probably at a lower resolution with fewer graphical effects.
Most new games released on next-generation platforms feature many graphical options, and Dying Light 2 follows suit. A side-by-side comparison is also shown in the video, and it appears that Techland has done an excellent job fine-tuning each option.
Ray tracing is a very resource-intensive feature, and most games on next-generation consoles only offer it in exchange for a high frame rate. Similarly, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy now has a new 30fps ray tracing mode. Miles Morales, Spider-Man, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart from Insomniac Games, there are two notable titles that include a separate mode for ray tracing at 60 frames per second.
Regardless, there appears to be a lot of excitement surrounding the release of Dying Light 2. It was once at the top of Steam’s wishlists, but Elden Ring has now taken its place. Dying Light 2 will also be available via the cloud on the Switch, although it has been postponed and will now be released within six months of the original release date. Fans can expect Dying Light 2 to be a contender for game of the year in 2022, regardless of when it is released.
Dying Light 2 will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 4, 2022.
