Fallout 76 has returned in a big way, and although Bethesda faced many problems, the developers dealt with the mistakes and now can systematically develop the production. As it turns out, Microsoft considered giving up the title after taking over Bethesda.
In 2018, Fallout 76 was released on the market, but even before the premiere, Bethesda issued a statement in which it confirmed that the game… would not meet the expectations of all players. The developers basically put the title on the market and started working on fixing the project.
However, the recent leak of documents from Microsoft’s court case with the Federal Trade Commission confirms an interesting situation – Phil Spencer confirmed in internal correspondence that he not only has no objection to uploading the title to PlayStation Now, but also mentioned a possible resignation from supporting the game. An important point for the project was Fallout 76 reaching 10 million players.
The F76 is in this interesting place in my opinion. Of course, the beginning was difficult. The team remains focused on improving and finding more audiences. It seems that we either need to see this game reach 10 million monthly users across all platforms or decide to move away from it, and if you think PSNow can support its rise in popularity, then I support that decision – wrote Phil Spencer.
As you know, Fallout 76 has returned from a long journey and 13.5 million players were confirmed in December 2022 . We can assume that this result was enough, as the title systematically receives new content.
The situation is certainly interesting for one more reason – it was Microsoft that helped Bethesda save Fallout 76 . This topic was discussed when the giant from Redmond took over the corporation.
