Square Enix has had a busy month so far. They’ve announced the release date for the Kingdom Hearts games coming to Nintendo Switch as cloud versions, as well as the fact that the series will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in April– and it appears that things are also in the works for the company’s JRPG camp.
Square Enix has announced that a commemorative broadcast for Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier and Final Fantasy 7 will be broadcast. The announcement was initially reported by Gamer, a Japanese publication (via Siliconera), and the broadcast will take place on January 31st at 2 a.m. PT. Tetsuya Nomura, one of the team’s developers, will be in charge of the stream.
The broadcast is coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 7 in Japan, and will mostly focus on the development progress of the mobile game Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier, along with diving into the memories of Final Fantasy 7, so it is recommended to temper your expectations accordingly. The stream will be available to watch on YouTube and the Japanese streaming platform NicoNico.
