There have been rumors for many months that Final Fantasy IX Remake is being developed, but Square Enix has still not announced the game. However, taking into account the latest material published by the Japanese corporation – we may soon see an announcement of the production.
Following several days of rumors that the Final Fantasy IX remake was being worked on, Jeff Grubb declared that the project was “real and in development” in early June. Regarding the reports, the Japanese made no formal comments.
However, last night the corporation published an announcement of a new collaboration between Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis and Final Fantasy IX. However, players correctly noticed that so far all Ever Crisis crossovers have been related to the latest games. In this way, the creators encouraged not only mobile production, but also adventures that are debuting on the market or are about to be launched.
Officially, Square Enix hasn’t spoken about Final Fantasy IX in a very long time, making it a forgotten game. Because of this, some fans think that the Japanese are really getting ready to reveal the adventure, and that the impending crossover will serve as a marketing tool for the game.
