No big surprise? For the next few months, Final Fantasy XVI will only be available on PlayStation 5, but we can be sure that the game will be made for PC in the future. But we can’t be sure that the second platform will be ready quickly.
Final Fantasy XVI for PCs came up on the day the project was announced, when Sony released a trailer saying that the game would only be available on consoles. So, the game’s producer for PlayStation suggested that it be put out on PC as well.
Since then, Square Enix has stopped talking about the release of the production for personal computers, but Naoki Yoshida decided to put an end to the rumors once and for all.
The maker of the game said that Final Fantasy XVI will only be available on PS5 by the end of 2023. The developers focused on making the game work best on the Sony console, so the PC version of the game will take longer to finish.
“First of all, it’s true that Final Fantasy 16 is a six-month limited-time PS5 exclusive. However, a completely different story is that the PC version will be released in half a year. Let me be clear – the PC version won’t be out in six months.“
“That’s because we spent a lot of time and money optimizing the game for PS5 to deliver the best gaming experience. Of course, I’d like to release a PC version at some point so that everyone can play as many games as possible. However, even if we start optimizing the PC version after the PS5 release, we won’t be able to optimize it in six months, so it won’t be released in a short time. I’d like to release it eventually, and I think I will, but I’m not at the stage where I can say when.“
Naoki Yoshida pointed out that Final Fantasy XVI will be available in the near future exclusively on PlayStation 5. The developers will need more time, so the creator is currently encouraging the release on PS5.
