Although Turn 10 Studios’ newest racing simulation game, Forza Motorsport, was released in 2018 and is the company’s first new racing game since 2017’s Forza Motorsport 7, the company’s Forza Horizon 5 continues to break sales records. According to a tweet sent by Snap Blast PLAY, the number of players now participating in the game has surpassed 34 million and is continuing to grow.
A player count of 30 million was reached in May 2023, the most recent big player milestone for the open-world racing game, so a trajectory like this is not altogether surprising. After its release in November 2021 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, Forza Horizon 5 amassed more than ten million players in its first week, making it the title with the largest first-week launch in the history of both Xbox and Game Pass.
Even while a significant portion of that success may be attributed to Xbox Game Pass, the game is now the first-party Xbox title from this generation that is selling at the quickest rate in the UK.
Since its initial release, the game has received a number of patches and additions; nevertheless, a job listing from the previous year may provide a clue to the existence of a sequel. In the meantime, be sure to check back here for any developments.
