Although Tango Gameworks‘ Hi-Fi Rush may have been the video game that garnered the most attention this year, the paranormal action-adventure game Ghostwire: Tokyo has been quite successful. According to the official Twitter account for the game, since it was first made available, there have been four million people who have played it.
Naturally, the total number of units sold was not disclosed, and the game can also be purchased through Game Pass and the PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium tiers. It is possible that several players are paying subscribers trying out the service for the first time. Ghostwire: Tokyo was initially released in March of the previous year for the PS5 platform and for personal computers. It wasn’t until recently that it became available for Xbox Series X/S after the period of exclusivity had ended.
In addition to that, a significant new update known as The Spider’s Thread was made available. It included a new rogue-lite gauntlet game mode with 30 stages and a boss, a new place to explore called Middle School with accompanying side quests, new skills, and extended story sections. There is also the possibility to lessen the terrifying effects by substituting Shibuya Hachi in their place. This option is available.
Thank you to 4 million fans thus far who have taken a thrilling tour of @TangoGameworks‘ Tokyo!#GhostwireTokyo pic.twitter.com/nutcWNOHmi
