God of War Ragnarok was given a launch window for the year 2022 quite some time ago; however, now that we are almost halfway through the year, many people are beginning to question why a more firm release date for the game still hasn’t been published. However, recent events seem to point to the likelihood that this will occur in the very near future.
In South Korea, the latest action-adventure sequel was just recently given a rating, and now, merchandising for the game is also starting to become available. According to a post on Twitter by @the marmolade, a number of God of War Ragnarok-related apparel products have been placed for sale by the UK retailer Geeky Zone. It is important to note that the majority of the listings mention September releases (while some also mention October).
The fact that video game merchandise typically goes on sale a few weeks before the release of the games themselves can provide us with an approximation of the launch window for the game, which is likely to fall somewhere between the months of September and October.
It is interesting to note that the developer of God of War Ragnarok, SIE Santa Monica Studio, has emphasized on several occasions that the release date of the game would not be moved beyond 2022. We are hoping that in the not-too-distant future, we will be provided with formal information on when it will launch.
In the meantime, make sure to check back for any and all developments.
