Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising‘s release date has been pushed back, according to an announcement made by Cygames and Arc System Works. The sequel to the fighting game based on Cygames’ mobile role-playing game, which was originally scheduled to be released on November 30, has been pushed back to December 14.
Since the first beta in July, the production team has “pulled out all the stops to rework the game’s mechanics and battle design in time for the initially scheduled release date,” according to a new statement released by the creative director, Tetsuya Fukuhara. This information was provided in the new statement. On the other hand, he believed that further time was required to put the “finishing touches” on the game.
After the announcement of the alterations to its system and balance a month ago, which were welcomed with a favorable reception, Fukuhara stated that the impact was “much larger than anticipated,” and that it affected various modes. The group came to the conclusion that “in order to live up to the expectations of the players, we will require an additional two weeks of polishing and bug fixing before we can release a truly high-quality product.” We apologize for making this announcement so close to the beginning of the second beta, but please be assured that the beta testing timetable has not been altered.
The open beta will run from November 9th to November 12th, and it will support play across platforms. However, the broadcast of “Granblue Showcase: Part 2: Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising” has been delayed and will now take place on December 2nd. It will include a contest between members of the development team while at the same time providing “the latest news” about the game.
Keep an eye out for further information on the showcase when it is shown. Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
