Early in December, Rockstar Games plans to release the first Grand Theft Auto 6 teaser (perhaps on December 7th at the Game Awards). Anticipating a 2025 release, there is a lot of excitement about this open-world game, despite leaks and claims of a scaled-down version of GTA 6. Take-Two Interactive, the publisher, isn’t laying out any expectations, though.
CEO Strauss Zelnick said, “We don’t tend to set particular expectations for any future releases,” in response to a question from Games Industry about what he anticipates from the sequel. Being the world’s most inventive, creative, and productive entertainment firm is our mission.
“At our brands, our creative teams are all striving for excellence. As a consequence, we now have the largest and most varied collection of owned intellectual property across mobile and console in the interactive entertainment industry, in addition to 11 franchises that have each sold over five million units.
Therefore, even if Grand Theft Auto 5 has delivered 190 million copies during its lifetime, the publisher isn’t declaring victory just yet, even though momentum is in its favor. We are currently the world’s second-ranked pure-play interactive entertainment firm as a consequence of that approach and the outstanding work of our creative staff. We thus wait to declare success until it has really happened, although we have a lot of optimism over the company’s whole lineup.
Although there has been no formal announcement regarding Grand Theft Auto 6, speculation from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier suggests that the game will take place in a made-up Miami. The first female protagonist in the series is one of the two new characters that players are supposedly going to control. The game’s launch won’t be the last, as Rockstar apparently intends to introduce more missions and cities in the future. In the meantime, stay tuned for further information and updates.
