Insomniac Games has stated that new gameplay for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be available when a “little more patience” is shown on the player’s part. In the interim, in order to commemorate Free Comic Book Day on May 6th, it will be publishing a prequel comic in collaboration with Marvel.
In this issue of the comic book, Miles Morales, Peter Parker, and Mary Jane Watson will square up against The Hood, a supervillain whose powers are based on magic. It will also reveal how the two heroes manage to keep their personal lives balanced with the demands of fighting crime. There will be information provided regarding Peter’s use of part of his newly acquired spare time, Miles’ experiences at school, and MJ’s professional life as a journalist.
Christo Gage, the writer of Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Ig Guara, an illustrator, are collaborating on the creation of the comic. On May 6th, the comic will be made accessible in select comic book stores as well as digitally through Marvel Unlimited and Marvel.com. Regarding Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the game will be available this Fall, and it will be available only for the PS5. Tony Todd, who provides the voice of Venom, stated that there would be “massive publicity” in August, and the release of the sequel is scheduled for September (this was confirmed by VGC).
There is a possibility that an announcement will be made at the upcoming PlayStation Showcase, which is scheduled to take place this month. In the meanwhile, we ask that you stay tuned.
