It’s likely that fans of the Metroid series won’t have to wait too much longer until they hear some exciting news regarding the franchise. There is a wealth of evidence to suggest that Nintendo is hard at work on remastering the upcoming editions of Metroid Prime 2 and 3.
Following the release of the very acclaimed Metroid Prime Remastered, it appears that updated versions of the Metroid Prime 2 and Metroid Prime 3 video games will also be released in the not-too-distant future. Jeff Grubb, a well-known industry insider who was previously responsible for revealing the existence of Metroid Prime Remastered, predicts that similar projects will soon be debuting on Switch.
During his Game Mess Mornings program, Jeff Grubb revealed that both Metroid Prime 2 and 3 will soon be available for Nintendo Switch. According to Grubb, the only Metroid Prime game that has been completely recreated is the original one that was already released. The following two volumes are going to be simplified and improved adaptations of the game, with the primary differences between them and the original being updated controls and a few minor gameplay specifics. Regrettably, the informant also says that Nintendo intends to sell such endeavors separately, rather than in a lower edition that is bundled together with other content.
Despite the fact that Metroid Prime Remastered was developed with a significant focus on quality (which is supported by very high ratings in reviews), it is disheartening that the developers of the game’s original release were not included on the “payroll” for the title that was introduced on Switch. The developers are outraged about this reality, and they have described the current situation as both a disgrace and a poor parody.
