Some PC gamers have noticed that after playing Mortal Kombat 1, their HDD and SSD mysteriously fill up. It turns out that the fighting game generates huge bug reports.
The PCGamesN editorial team confirmed the reports from Mortal Kombat 1 fans from recent days. After each crash of the fighting game (which unfortunately still happens too often), error report files are generated, which can take up to 1 GB – just for one crash. Folders with such files occupy even more than 70 GB for some people. According to PCGamesN, after one suspension of Mortal Kombat 1, files larger than 800 MB may be created.
Of course, you can free yourself from this burden. Folders with unnecessary files are created in:
- C:\User\AppData\Local\MK12\Saved\Steam\Crashes
- C:\User\AppData\Local\CrashDump
The problem is that the game does not inform the user about the creation of such huge files and many people may be unaware of what is eating up their SSD space.
WB Games, the game’s publisher, sent a message to PCGamesN, assuring that NetherRealms developers are already analyzing the problem and that we can expect a fix in the coming days.
