The new Resident Evil 4 update from Capcom appears to improve the game’s visuals on the PS5 and resolve the irksome dead-zone problem on the Xbox Series X|S.
In addition to the aforementioned modifications, this new patch includes assistance for the current “The Mercenaries” game mode. (which already became available yesterday in some regions). Additionally, by enhancing the graphics rendering process, this new patch intends to increase framerates on Xbox Series. Capcom has also made a correction to the graphics rendering process on the PlayStation 5. However, this patch tries to fix a problem that made some ambient aspects of Sony’s system appear blurry.
According to user feedback, the latest update does definitely lessen the dead zone on Xbox, although aiming at Microsoft’s system is still more difficult than it is on PlayStation and PC. In addition, despite the patch’s stated goal of enhancing Xbox platform performance, it appears that the update actually degrades visual quality and performance on Microsoft’s consoles.
Here is what ‘Gwynblood,’ a Reddit user, had to say about the most recent update:
According to the message, “With the most recent update, the game now looks worse and blurrier in every mode, whether it be Resolution or Framerate mode.” The user continues, “Xbox now experiences aliasing/shimmering, which wasn’t a problem previously. Prior to the patch, the PS5 version had this issue; it is now repaired and sharper.
It appears that Capcom still has to work on the Xbox version because other Reddit users have also complained about Xbox consoles’ poorer image quality. Depending on the visual mode you’re using to play the game in and whether you’re using VRR, performance seems to vary a bit. As soon as new information on this issue becomes available, we’ll keep you informed. How is the game playing for you now that the update has been applied? What gaming system do you use? Now available worldwide on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One is Resident Evil 4 Remake. According to today’s news, Capcom has already sold more than 4 million copies of the game in just two weeks.
