Since Persona 5’s premiere in Japan about seven years ago, Atlus has undoubtedly developed a lot of games that are offshoots of the RPG. However, demand for a new mainline installment in the adored RPG series is increasing daily. A few years back, Atlus stated that it was working on Persona 6, but when may we see it?
NateTheHate, an insider, claims that it might not be too long away. The insider stated on a recent episode of his podcast that Persona 6 is scheduled to release in late 2024 and that it’s likely to be an exclusive for PS5, which isn’t a claim we’ve heard before. Persona 6 will supposedly skip PS4 in favor of PS3, unlike Persona 5, which debuted as a cross-gen title for both PS3 and PS4. NateTheHate does note, however, that there is a potential that Persona 6 will eventually make its way to Xbox platforms after its initial release.
And exactly when will it be revealed? The insider claims that the game was initially scheduled to be revealed before the end of last year, but Atlus opted to postpone it because the release date was still some time off. He predicts that the game will probably be unveiled later this year, possibly at the September Tokyo Game Show. Therefore, it doesn’t appear that there will be an announcement at the upcoming PlayStation Showcase.
It was stated earlier this year that the RPG’s reveal was anticipated for this summer.
In the meantime, NateTheHate has asserted that Persona 3 will be remade and will be revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase.
