TCL Technology, a specialist in the electronic industry, revealed that Sony and Microsoft are preparing to launch the new PS5 Pro and Xbox Series devices either next year or the year after.
This disclosure came during a recent conference of the aforementioned company (via the PPE website), where it presented its future plans to deal with the future of audio-visual entertainment.
Through one of the presentations that you can see in the picture below, it showed that Sony and Microsoft are preparing to launch the new PS5 Pro and Xbox Series consoles in 2023 or 2024.
We do not know whether TCL’s information came from prior knowledge of Sony and Microsoft’s plan to launch mid-generation devices, or if it came based on estimates according to the launch plan that took place for the last generation.
According to what was stated in the conference, these devices, which were described as Gen 9.5, will support 4K resolution with performance between 60 to 120 frames per second in “Render” processing mode, referring to accuracy and basic performance, while 8K resolution will support with performance between 60 to 120 frames per second. 120 frames per second in the “output” mode, which indicates that it is a dynamic mode, or it may refer to the display resolution of media such as YouTube and others.
At the end of the list appeared the defects of the GPU RX7700XT graphics card, which is believed to be the improved graphics card that will be found in the guts of the new devices.
This is not the first time that rumors talk about mid-generation devices, and there are many expectations that these devices are already under development and may see the light within 3 to 4 years from the launch of the basic devices.
Earlier this year, a patent was monitored through the T3 website, which indicates the technical architecture that the PS5 Pro will have if this information is real, as the device will contain two GPU graphics cards with the addition of more RAM, as well as raising the power of the processing unit. CPU Here is an excerpt from this patent description.
According to the patent information, the PS5 Pro will contain two GPU graphics cards installed on the SoC, which will give the device an extraordinary ability to process graphics and special effects with high performance. This may be Sony’s plan to keep pace with the great and accelerated development that the new graphics cards have reached.
Recently, some leaks that came from within AMD showed that it had started work on SoC processing boards for the next generation PS6 and the new Xbox, but the company did not reveal any details about these devices.
