Matthew Kiichi Heafy, the vocalist and guitarist for Trivium, has collaborated with Gearbox Publishing and developer Gunfire Games to produce the full version of the song “Wielder of the Plague.” Heafy is responsible for writing and recording the music that will be included in Remnant 2 and its impending downloadable content, The Awakened King.
The song was first included in the game’s Accolades trailer, which was made available for viewing not long after the complete version of the game was made available. Along with the song, a music video for it has also been made available, which you can see down below. This comes only a few hours before the launch of Remnant 2: The Awakened King.
The release of PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game Remnant 2: The Awakened King was announced earlier this month. The downloadable content centers on the One True King, who awakens from a “near-death slumber” to find that he has been corrupted by the Root. The downloadable update will bring with it not only fresh story content but also new zones, dungeons, equipment, and a new archetype called the Ritualist.
The development team recently disclosed that just one player in a co-op party has to acquire The Awakened King in order to access the expansion’s campaign. However, all players in the party will need to purchase the expansion in order to make use of any of the new goods or archetypes.
