After being removed from the PC remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 by mistake a week ago, the Japanese publishing company Capcom has announced that the ray tracing feature would be reinstated in a future update for both games and will be available on the PC edition.
The announcement was made by the corporation through the official Resident Evil Twitter account, which stated:
We are aware of an ongoing issue in which the ray tracing option does not appear in the Graphics & Presets menu; this will be addressed in an upcoming release, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
Following the release of an update for both games toward the end of the previous week, PC gamers took their complaints about a lack of graphical customization choices to the Steam forums and Reddit. This gave rise to the current problem. Additionally, the menus of the game no longer contain the option to activate the support for 3D audio.
However, the new tweet makes it obvious that the settings were removed inadvertently owing to a fault that was introduced in the most recent version. Capcom has remained silent about the missing options over the weekend, making it unclear if the functions were removed on purpose in Resident Evil 2 and 3.
