In March of 2022, we published our first article pertaining to Rooted. Since that time, the survival project, which got its inspiration from “The Last of Us 2,” has made substantial progress. So, let’s have a look at how far we’ve come with the job, shall we?
In the most recent few weeks, the creators of Rooted have unveiled the results of their labor: a system that animates the movement of the heroes, as well as the gathering of equipment, lighting, and the construction of shelters. Things are shaping up to be quite impressive for such a small team of developers working on an independent title. The post-apocalyptic project will offer both single-player and multiplayer co-op and competitive modes, as it is built on the tools provided by the Unreal Engine 5 gaming engine.
The makers of Rooted made an announcement on Steam that they want to make gameplay samples available in the form of a closed alpha version in the near future, most likely in the year 2022. In addition, the authors are working on organizing a Kickstarter fundraising campaign for their survival game. Due to the fact that more than 130,000 users of Valve’s digital distribution network have already put items to their “wish lists” on Steam Rooted, the campaign has a decent chance of being successful. As a result, we are holding out hope that this PC-focused endeavor will provide us with additional information and new content.
