Sonic Superstars , which was presented to us a few months ago, is supposed to be a game that will once again take a big step forward in the development of the Super Fast Hedgehog series. Although in theory we are dealing with assumptions very similar to what we know from the original versions from years ago, in practice there will be a lot of significant differences. What’s more, there will also be solutions that we would not have expected before.
And one of them will undoubtedly be the Battle Mode presented during TGS 2023 ! According to the information presented in a specially prepared trailer, it will be possible to play with four people at the same time in local cooperation, or with eight people online. The assumptions are simple – we start with an ordinary Metal Warrior, and thanks to progress, we will be able to unlock various parts and cosmetic elements for him.
Matches are divided into three random mini-games in which we face others. After each stage, points are added up, and the player who has the most points at the end simply wins. At some points it resembles typical Nintendo “party games”, but with a “Sonic” flair. This could be a really interesting diversion, and if received properly… Maybe the beginning of another series of spin-offs? We’ll see – in the meantime, take a look at what the Battle Mode in question looks like in practice:
