Nicola Sebastiani was hired by Sony to lead its developing PlayStation Mobile branch less than two years ago, but it was only recently acknowledged that Sebastiani has departed the company to “pursue a new, undisclosed opportunity”. It appears Sony has lined up his replacements in advance of his departure.
You read that right—replacements. Plural. The LinkedIn profiles of Kris Davis and Olivier Courtemanche show that Sony has selected the pair to serve as the new co-heads of PlayStation Mobile, as noted by @Zuby_Tech on Twitter.
Since joining Sony a little more than a year ago, Davis and Courtemanche have both held senior director positions within the PlayStation Mobile division. Prior to their positions at Sony, Courtemanche spent six years at Zynga and six years at Meta, while Davis worked for Kabam for six years.
Sony has stated on numerous occasions that it aims to significantly increase its presence in the market, despite the fact that things have been quite quiet on the PlayStation Mobile front. It bought the mobile game studio Savage Game Studios last year, which is presently developing PlayStation Mobile’s first AAA live service title.
