Square Enix, the Japanese game company known for series such as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Tomb Raider, plans to release more of its titles on Xbox consoles. According to a rumor that appeared on Twitter, Square Enix is to sign a temporary or permanent exclusivity agreement with Microsoft for several of its upcoming but not yet announced titles.
So far, there are no details about these games or when they will appear. However, as the creators of the Rand al Thor 19 podcast suggest, these may be both new projects and continuations of existing series. Square Enix is reportedly happy with the sales and reception of its recent Xbox games , such as Outriders and Guardians of the Galaxy.
(FYI) Jez Corden says he was pessimistic when they announced the Square Enix/Xbox partnership but now hearing positive stuff about the partnership
He was thinking it just going to be games like Octopath, pixel remasters, and maybe Final Fantasy 14.
He didn't think it would be… pic.twitter.com/R0MdY9LWGD

Of course, neither side neither denies nor confirms this. Square Enix and Microsoft have not commented on this matter yet . However, if the rumor turns out to be true, it could mean that Xbox fans will be able to enjoy more titles from Square Enix in the future.
Don’t expect hits like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Rebirth or Final Fantasy 16. But apparently these will be games created temporarily or exclusively for Xbox . It will still take some time, because none of them are in the development phase yet, and if they are, it is only the beginning of their journey. So far, we only know about Final Fantasy 14 and Octopath Traveler 2 , which are already on their way and will arrive on the “Greens” platform in 2024.
