Bethesda promised Starfield fans that it would implement several important elements as part of the update that were missing on the day of release. The company is already starting to keep its word.
We have received another Starfield update, code numbered 1.7.36. In this patch, Bethesda introduced a feature that many people have been asking for since the game’s release – the ability to set the lens width/focus. The Field of View (FoV) slider is now available in graphics options and allows you to adjust the width of the field of view – both in FPP and TPP modes.
We still have to wait for the contrast/gamma adjustment options, DLSS support and HDR mode calibration promised on September 13 . Bethesda, however, fixed an element that was giving sleepless nights to owners of Intel Arc series GPUs, significantly increasing the stability of software running on such equipment. We’ve also seen “various stability and performance improvements .” It is possible that they are mainly used on consoles, because the analysis of the PC version of the game, conducted by MxBenchmarkPC, shows no changes in the smoothness of the animation (video below). The previous patch already improved the smoothness of Starfield on XSX (especially in New Atlantis).
The last novelty is the correction of an error occurring in the Echoes of the Past mission, where sometimes underground creatures could appear in a place inaccessible to the player, which blocked progress in this mission.
