Super Mario Bros. Wonder, a new mainline 2D sidescrolling platformer, received just as much attention as the Super Mario RPG remake in yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, which was jam-packed with significant new announcements for upcoming Mario games. Super Mario Bros. Wonder immediately drew the attention of many fans of the series thanks to its entirely new aesthetic, brand-new gameplay mechanics (which are looking very psychedelic, to put it mildly), and large cast of playable characters.
Some new details about the platformer have also surfaced after its announcement. For instance, Super Mario Bros. Wonder’s Switch eShop page has disclosed that the game would be 4.5 GB in size.
Although a little higher than earlier 2D Mario games on the Switch, it is standard for a 2D platformer on the system. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, which is a port of a Wii U game, has a file size of 2.5 GB, while Super Mario Maker 2 has a file size of 3.1 GB.
It’s also important to keep in mind that the game’s file size may change (even slightly) between now and its launch, which is still a few months away.
On October 20, Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be available for the Nintendo Switch.
