In 2011, Techland offered Dead Island to the players and the production was appreciated by many players. The Polish studio then prepared Dead Island Riptide and said goodbye to IP to pursue a new universe. However, the studio from Wrocław decided to react and congratulated the release of Dead Island 2.
A day before the release of Dead Island 2, Techland released a major update to Dying Light 2, which turned up the action and provided players with more bloody duels. By the time the update was released, the company had collected some negative comments, because according to some fans – the studio decided to directly affect the release of Deep Silver Dambuster Studios.
Poles decided to react a second time and this time nice graphics were published – Techland congratulates the premiere:
To the team behind @deadislandgame: congratulations on the launch! We’ll be sure to stock up and block the windows with boards in case your zombies decide to knock. But we will surely enjoy your game!

We’ll be sure to stock up on supplies and board up our windows, just in case your zombies decide to come knocking. But we will definitely enjoy your game! 🧟#DyingLight2 #DeadIsland2 pic.twitter.com/Ugx0iTg1Zp

The news was positively received by many players, who openly admit that they would like to see a crossover between Dead Island 2 and Dying Light 2. In principle, this could make sense, because although both positions focus on fighting zombies, the developers approached the game completely differently and the apocalypse itself.
In 2023, Techland will definitely add 2 more updates to Dying Light, which will encourage players to play last year’s game. Deep Silver Dambuster Studios has not yet confirmed development plans for the coming months.
