Techland, the company that published and developed Dying Light, is already considering developing Dying Light 3.

The director of the series, Tymon Smekta, recently tweeted a poll that asked members of the community about a potential new entry. More specifically, the poll inquired what kind of occupation gamers would like to see the main protagonist of Dying Light 3 has.

DISCLAIMER: This is not Dying Light 3 announcement 🙂

But – we were chatting today overseeing last details for the Gut Feeling update (3 days to go!), and we couldn’t agree…

…so please help: if we do DL3, would you be most excited if the main hero was (as a “profession”):

    — Tymon Smektała (@smektalaTM) April 17, 2023

Smektaa began the poll with caution, stating that the tweet in question is not an official declaration regarding Dying Light 3. “If we were to make Dying Light 3, which of the following ‘professions’ would you be most excited about seeing the main hero be?”

Simply a Nightrunner Pilgrim GRE Agent who has been converted to the good side.
There have been a total of 5,921 votes cast, and the poll is currently being won by the final choice, which is “GRE Agent (turned good)” with 42.8% of the votes.

Even while this is not an official announcement for Dying Light 3, it is obvious that Techland has already started kicking around concepts for a new chapter in the series.

The original Dying Light was released in 2015, and then two years later, in 2022, the sequel, Dying Light 2, was released. Since the previous installments have collectively sold more than 30 million copies, it would not be strange to see a third installment released at some point in the future.

Techland has continued to update Dying Light 2 with a substantial amount of supplemental material ever since its release in February 2022. The “Gut Feeling” update, which will go live on the 20th of April, will bring about gameplay enhancements as well as new equipment.

Before beginning work on the Dying Light series, Techland was the game’s developer for Dead Island, which was released in 2011. Dead Island 2, which is being developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver, is almost ready to be released on April 21.
