PlatinumGames shared some amazing news. Hideki Kamiya, one of the studio’s founders, decided to leave the company. The developer immediately commented on the matter and suggested that we can still expect his games.
The director and story creator of Bayonetta and The Wonderful 101 made a huge contribution to the development and success of PlatinumGames. Kamiya was the supervising director and creator of the script for Bayonetta 3, and what’s more, he also created the concept and managed the team of writers for Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon.
We can now confirm that the Japanese is leaving PlatinumGames. First, the studio published a statement thanking the talented developer:

As announced on the official PlatinumGames X platform account,
I will be leaving PlatinumGames on October 12, 2023.
This came after much consideration based on my personal beliefs.
And it was by no means an easy decision.
But I think it’s best.
I will continue to create in my own style.
I hope you will keep your eyes peeled.
