The Callisto Protocol, developed by Striking Distance Studios, will be one of the numerous video games featured at the showcase of the Summer Game Fest, which will take place the following week. The director of the horror game, Glen Schofield, will join the show’s presenter, Geoff Keighley, for the first gameplay demo of the game.
The year is 2320, and the action takes place in the Black Iron prison colony on Callisto. The main character, Jacob Lee, is a prisoner there who is struggling to stay alive despite an extraterrestrial invasion. On the other hand, it appears that the warden might have played some part in all of this. Lee is going to rely on the GRP, which is a gravity weapon, in addition to guns and other melee weaponry. This will allow him to freeze Biophages, throw them into environmental hazards, and do other things with them.
Schofield has disclosed that despite the fact that The Callisto Protocol was initially touted as being a part of the PUBG Battlegrounds universe, the game actually takes place in its own world and has its own plot. This indicates that there are no story ties to the title of Krafton’s book (outside of any potential Easter eggs). The Callisto Protocol will be available on December 2 on the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC in addition to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
