The Day Before, an open-world survival game developed by MyTona and Fntastic, has been the subject of more than its fair share of criticism due to the multiple setbacks it has endured and the promises made by the developer that many believe to be overly optimistic. However, it now appears that the game is finally ready to be released, but with a few important qualifications.
To begin, the start time of the game has been pushed back another time. The Day Before was originally scheduled to be released on November 10, however, that date has been pushed back until December 7. The trademark battle that the publisher was caught in the middle of (which also led the game to have its most recent delay) has been resolved, and the game will be able to maintain its name moving forward.
Instead of being released on many platforms as was initially intended, The Day Before will instead be made accessible as an early access title on the personal computer (via Steam), and it won’t be a complete game when it finally does come out. According to Fntastic, this is because The Day Before is the company’s “first huge game,” which might lead to some “unexpected circumstances.”
Fntastic has said that the complete version will be released “when we are certain that this is the best version of the game that is possible.” However, there is currently no release date for the full version. When it finally does come out in its entirety, it will also be available on the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. The Day Before will have a retail price of $39.99 for early access, while its full edition will have a price tag of $49.99.
Additionally, a brand new gameplay trailer for the game has been made available. You may see it in the following:
