The Last of Us Part 1 and its remake, developed by Naughty Dog and showcased at the Summer Game Fest last month, was officially unveiled, putting a stop to months of rumors. Some people are looking forward to reliving the journey that Joel and Ellie took, but others are less thrilled about the game because the graphics and controls have been upgraded (and not without good reason).
Robert Morrison, an animator, took to Twitter to contradict claims that the remake was “simply a cash grab,” which was made by other people. He made the observation, “In point of fact, it is the most painstakingly designed and created project that I have ever seen or been a part of in the course of my whole professional career.” “with the utmost care and attention to every last detail that is humanly possible.” Which is something that absolutely cannot be contested in terms of the visual front, whether it’s the improved details or the native 4K/60 FPS gameplay.
The question of whether or not it is “worth” picking up is a subjective one, as Morrison elaborated on more in a follow-up tweet. “The price of the game is not within my control, and its worth is a matter of opinion for each specific person. You are free to determine for yourself whether or not you want it. All I’m trying to express is that I am just blown away by the effort that such an incredible bunch of people put into the project. It was done with an incredible level of enthusiasm and commitment.
According to Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, who was a guest on MinnMax’s podcast a while back, one of the reasons that Naughty Dog opted to remake the first game is that its other projects were still in pre-production at the time. This was stated as one of the reasons for the decision. According to reports, it also gives a significant portion of the development team something to do while allowing them to become “acquainted” with the hardware of the platform.
The first installment of The Last of Us will be available on PlayStation 5 on September 2, and a version for personal computers is now under development. Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for additional information and gameplay elements.

Actually it’s the most meticulously built and crafted project that I have ever seen or been a part of in my entire career. The highest level of care and attention to detail possible. pic.twitter.com/csjZ3kZMyG

The price of the game is out of my control and worth is subjective to each individual. You can decide for yourself if you want it or not. All I’m saying is I am in awe of the work that an amazing group of people did on the project. A tremendous amount of passion was put into it.
