At Summer Game Fest, the first installment of The Last of Us was formally unveiled. Within the next seventy days, the game will be available for play on PS5 only; however, a PC version is planned for the near future. The most recent update to the Sony online store provided confirmation of further production-related facts.
For a good number of months, industry insiders and media have been speculating that work will begin on a completely revamped version of Ellie and Joel’s trip. The newest event hosted by Geoff Keighley provided us with the formal announcement as well as the release date for The Last of Us Part I. We have already seen a polished presentation of Tess, and Joel has been “completely reworked.” Time is running out before September 2, so Naughty Dog is methodically disclosing elements of the project.
We were able to find out that The Last of Us Part 1 will take up at least 79 gigabytes of space thanks to the information update that was provided on PlayStation Direct. Given that the remastered edition of The Last of Us for the PS4 requires fewer than 50 gigabytes, this is an extremely large amount. In addition, the most recent version of the successful PlayStation game will not include a multiplayer component; rather, gamers will have access to an expanded version of the Left Behind plot.
The description also highlights the compatibility of the PS5 controller with The Last of Us Part I, so while we are studying the past, we will be able to experience the variations in the types of weapons that were employed, as well as in aspects such as the rain falling:
“[The game] supports haptic stimulation for each weapon, as well as ambient elements like the sensation of rain pouring,” the developer said. “[The game] also supports the sensation of lightning striking.”
The developers also did not forget about adaptive triggers, which means that “all weapons” will acquire a unique effect as a result. For example, when we use Joel’s pistol or Ellie’s bow, we will feel a distinct resistance from the weapon. In addition to this, the capabilities offered by the Tempest 3D AudioTech technology were put to use; as a result, the audio environment will be even more nuanced.
