After the success of the animated “Super Mario Bros. “Film” it’s time for another Big N project. This time, however, the Japanese did not decide on the production developed by the “magicians” from Illumination. A live-action version of “The Legend of Zelda” is being made.
Nintendo revealed its latest financial figures this week, mentioning the enormous popularity of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The game’s remarkable sales figures bolstered the company’s conviction that it is worthwhile to leverage this cult brand.
The producer and publisher announced that Shigeru Miyamoto – as a representative of Nintendo – and Avi Arad (“Spider-Man Universe”, “Iron Man”, “Spider-Man”, “Kraven the Hunter”, “Borderlands”, “Spider-Man: Through multiverse”, “Uncharted”, “Morbius”, “Venom”) will jointly produce a film based on the universe of The Legend of Zelda. Nintendo has established cooperation with Sony Pictures, and the picture will be co-financed by both corporations – although the creators of Mario emphasize that they will “cover over 50%” of the funds needed for the project.
Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. will handle theatrical distribution around the world. However, this is not the end of interesting information – Wes Ball, the creator of the “Maze Runner” series and the latest “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes”, will be the director of “The Legend of Zelda”.
We’ve not even heard the slightest indication of a potential release date, so it appears that the live-action movie is still in the early phases of development. Players are still able to nominate celebrities who might be involved in the production, though. Who will become Zelda and who will be allowed to play Link? People chuckle at the possibility that this is just another well-publicized project involving Chris Pratt or Tom Holland.
STOP SAYING TOM HOLLAND AS A LINK.

Casting Tom Holland as Link is now a possibility, and it’s terrifying.

I swear to God, if they put Chris Pratt in this, I will wipe out all evidence of Nintendo.
I swear to god if they shoehorn Chris Pratt into this, I will erase all evidence of Nintendo’s existence off the face of the earth https://t.co/8JIsSOwv6u
