The quick-thinking studio is already encouraging its incredibly devoted and engaged community to take things a step further. A new endeavor has been started to gather the most crucial players feedback. Learn the specifics.
The work at CD Projekt RED is intense. Along with The Witcher 3’s next-generation update, Cyberpunk 2077‘s extension, and the upcoming installment of the futuristic series, developers are also keeping an eye on other projects that will grow their brands and generate entirely new intellectual property. Because of this, we have been able to see the company’s growth by adding new studios and headquarters for many years. One final requirement, the presence of players, must be satisfied for all the suppositions to be true.
Starting today, participants can sign up for the free RED Playtesting program, which will allow them to actively take part in the creation of future games from the Polish company. The comments made during the playtests will be the most crucial for developers.
“The RED Playtesting program is designed for all video game enthusiasts who want to become involved “behind the scenes” by acting as playtesters for new CD PROJEKT RED creations. The research team will gather insightful feedback from participants throughout the playtests, which will be used to enhance certain game studio-created aspects and modify them to meet the needs and expectations of gamers from all over the world.
Anyone with a GOG account who is at least 16 years old can participate in the initiative. Candidates will take the tests for free, initially at the company’s headquarters in Warsaw and later also in other cities, after being chosen based on the player profile and matching the currently evaluated works. The corporation notes that participants will be protected by the NDA and that participation in the action is unrelated to employment.
The main CD Projekt RED website has further information about the initiative.
(1) Update
In a note to our editorial department, CD Projekt RED outlines the testing’ format and what we should actually anticipate:
Playtests, or testing video games with real users, are a crucial part of our manufacturing process. We are glad to increase our operations in this sector as a result. We host meetups as part of the RED Playtesting program where we monitor user experience. At various phases of development, we present and make available for testing components of our games and services, but not alone; this may also be said of other resources (e.g. projects of promotional materials and others). For instance, during playtests, we can solicit feedback on balancing or combat mechanisms, various plot points or dialogues, environment creation, or even the size of interface icons. everything in an effort to produce works that fulfill the expectations of gamers from all over the world while also improving upon them based on feedback from those taking part in playtests. Our research team uses the information it gathers through playtesting to create contemporary, excellent, and creative games.
