Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a spin-off from the Borderlands franchise, will let you enjoy cross-play with friends regardless of platform, despite Borderlands 3’s particular issue on PlayStation when Sony turned off cross-play.
Randy Pitchford, head of development studio Gearbox, confirmed the information on his Twitter account:
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will ship on March 25 with fully cross-play support for all platforms at launch, including PlayStation. It’s incredible work from the engineers at Gearbox Software thanks to our 2K Games and first-party partners, including Sony.
In case you didn’t know, Borderlands 3 had a problem supporting cross-play on PlayStation devices, and it later became clear from Apple and Epic Games trial leaks that the Japanese publisher demanded a portion of the game’s revenue in exchange for supporting this feature on PlayStation, unlike what happens on Microsoft and Nintendo devices .
It is noteworthy that save files can be transferred from the PS4 to PS5 and not vice versa, and the game will work on Xbox Series X in 4K resolution and 60 frames per second with HDR10 support, while no details were mentioned regarding the Smart Delivery feature.
