The information that Square Enix would be canceling Tomb Raider Anniversary, which was created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the series, was made public to the network over the course of the past weekend. Tomb Raider Anniversary was created in order to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary. When we consider the significant amount of information that was leaked about Nvidia the previous year, the rumors start to make more sense.
A significant breach of Nvidia information occurred in November of 2021. On the internet, a lot of lists compiled by reputable publishers arose, and they detailed the rankings that various businesses are striving to achieve. There was supposed to be a Tomb Raider 25th Anniversary game published by Square Enix, but we never heard anything about it.
This is most likely owing to the fact that the Japanese company decided not to release the game as planned in 2021 when it was originally scheduled to do so. According to a Twitter user by the name of RAIDER, the production was developed by Virtuous Studios and was created on the graphics engine of Rising of the Tomb Raider. This would indicate that we are dealing with either a remake or a very detailed remaster of the original game.
It was rumored that Virtuous Studios might remaster Tomb Raider Anniversary for its 25th anniversary in 2021 using the ROTTR engine for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with additional survival gameplay aspects being included. After Square Enix decided not to move forward with the project, the original ending of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which made reference to Natli, was removed.
RUMOR: #TombRaider Anniversary was to be remastered for the 25th anniversary in 2021 by Virtuous Studios, on ROTTR engine for PS4/Xbox One, with Survival trilogy gameplay elements added. SQEX cancelled the project and the SOTTR original ending referencing Natla was cut. pic.twitter.com/3G8ihzKGnL

The original conclusion of Shadow of the Tomb Raider (which made reference to Natla) was supposedly changed as a result of the cancellation of Tomb Raider 25th Anniversary, which was meant to include numerous survival aspects from the brand’s most recent installments.
