According to Tom Holland, the Uncharted movie used some of the maneuvers from the original games.
Holland discussed how the film pulled more from the games than just the story in an interview provided by Sony. “There are moves in the film which are stolen straight from the game,” the Spider-Man actor stated.
The video shows Holland somewhat demonstrating what he is talking about. “There’s stuff like that that we stole, but the balance of trying to make it look really cool while also being believable was tricky, and there’s some creative freedom that we took.”
It wasn’t just the moves that were recreated for the much-anticipated live-action version of Uncharted. From the trailers, we’ve seen moments like the cargo plane sequence from the third game.
It’s strange to say this, but the Uncharted movie is going to hit theaters. What started out as a remake of the first game in the franchise in 2008 has evolved into a prequel starring Tom Holland as a young Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Sully, Nate’s friend, and right-hand man. It will open in cinemas on Friday, February 18, and will be available on Netflix at a later date.
