Despite Iron Gate’s previous statements to focus on PC only with its latest project Valheim, the survival game has been announced for Xbox in 2023.
The news was announced during the Xbox Showcase Extended event with confirmation that the game will arrive for PC Game Pass this fall, and will finally release on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in the spring of 2023, as well as Steam, Microsoft Store, and Xbox versions from Valheim with Full support for co-play.
Valheim achieved a new milestone in sales in the recent period, as the developer, along with publisher Coffee Stain, announced that the title had exceeded 10 million sales since it was launched on the market early last year through Early Access.
About the events of the game Valheim:
A brutal one to ten player survival horror and exploration game set in a Procedurally-Generated environment inspired by the beloved Vikings culture. Fight, build and win your way into an epic worthy of Odin’s attention!
Richard Svensson, CEO of Iron Gate Studios, explained that the game has surpassed 10 million copies sold just over a year after the Steam Early Access release date, and continued:
We never imagined Valheim would turn out to be such a big game, not even in our wildest dreams, the past year has been going by so much faster than we thought. Our team has doubled since launch and now Valheim is known to be enjoyed by millions of players around the world.
