Is there anyone who claims to have never played any of the games in the Deus Ex series? I can’t imagine it! After all, we are discussing one of the most well-known companies deeply rooted in the aesthetics of cyberpunk as well as a series that has garnered the affection of a sizable number of devoted followers. And even though a significant amount of time has gone since the conclusion of the previous section, there are still those who are attempting to immerse themselves in this incredible universe from the ground up.
And you can be sure that Eidos Montreal will not let things stay that way. According to one of the most well-known insiders in the industry, Jeff Grubb (and despite the somewhat negative publicity, it still provides quite a lot of information that is pertinent), Eidos Montreal plans to return to one of its most successful brands in the future. They have no intention of parting with it, and it’s likely that we’re in the early stages of the second edition right now:
“It is still early [in the morning, to be particular – ed. ed.]. According to the rumors I’ve heard, the company is looking to get into the Deus Exa franchise as soon as possible. They have the desire to revert to that. They want to put up a fight and accomplish something that Cyberpunk 2077 was unable to achieve. This information is making its way around. We’ll have to wait and see whether that occurs. The fact that it’s still early means that things could turn out differently.”
Jeff also mentioned that something similar to this wasn’t even a possibility when Square Enix was still there, but now that Embracer Group has purchased the rights to the studio as well as the studio itself, things are finally starting to move in the correct direction. We have no choice but to keep our fingers crossed that something is actually going on, and that in a reasonable amount of time, we will witness the comeback of the brand, which many people probably miss. How do you evaluate the possibility of a return? Have you ever considered coming back to this universe?
