Bobby Kotick held an important meeting with employees of Activision, Blizzard and King, during which the upcoming finalization of the contract with Microsoft was discussed. The head of the entire corporation suggested that Guitar Hero may return thanks to the capabilities of the Xbox manufacturer.
Jez Corden from WindowsCentral told the story of an interesting meeting that was to take place this week. At Tuesday’s meeting, Bobby Kotick discussed the state of the company with Activision Blizzard employees before finalizing the contract.
During the conversation, Bobby Kotick confirmed how Microsoft’s activities and technological research can help Activision teams create better games. In his opinion, the corporation uses many modern solutions.
Much of what I’ve seen at Microsoft involves research. And they thrive in areas that are extraordinary. So the ability to leverage their capabilities in terms of artificial intelligence and machine learning, data analytics, new ways of thinking about graphics – I just see unlimited potential for what we do,” Kotick said.
The head of Activision Blizzard then moved seamlessly to praise the IP owned by the corporation, even mentioning games that changed the industry and mentioned Pitfall, River Raid and Kaboom, among others.
During the conversation, Bobby Kotick openly suggested that work on a new part of the Guitar Hero series is underway:
The re-emergence of Guitar Hero and other things would not be possible without different types of resources. So, the endless possibilities for the future are just incredibly exciting.
The situation is interesting because the president of Activision Blizzard has already suggested work on a new part of Guitar Hero several times in the past, and even mentioned the possible advantages of taking over by Microsoft in the context of this production. Currently, however, no information has been confirmed about the new part of the acclaimed, although forgotten, series.
