Throughout its history, World of Warcraft has undergone significant transformations (on more than one occasion), but in 2019, Blizzard gave in to fan demand and released World of Warcraft Classic Wrath of the Lich King, delivering the MMORPG experience as it had been when it was first released, without all of the many, many changes and transformations that occurred over the years.
World of Warcraft Classic: Burning Crusade, released in 2021, further enhanced the experience by providing the MMO’s first expansion the same treatment as the second expansion. Now, it appears that there will be more to come. Apparently, according to Wowhead, the company has been sending out questionnaires to users, which could indicate that a classic release of Wrath of the Lich King is also in the works.
Following a poll last month that asked fans if they would be interested in a Wrath of the Lich King Classic launch, a second survey has been sent out inquiring about purchase choices, with two different bundles being highlighted in the results.
Interestingly, similar surveys were sent out before the announcement of the Burning Crusade Classic expansion, so it’s possible that a similar announcement and subsequent launch for Wrath of the Lich King is in the works as well. Given the fact that it is widely regarded as the best World of Warcraft expansion to date, that is something that a large number of MMORPG fans will be hoping for.
Meanwhile, the next expansion for the normal World of Warcraft will be released on April 19, along with the regular World of Warcraft. According to leaks, the game’s title will be Dragonflight.
