Xbox Series X|S may have a very interesting production in the future. Blizzard representatives do not hide the fact that they are “still” in talks about porting World of Warcraft to consoles, and although it is a complicated task, developers are able to fulfill the dreams of many players.
At BlizzCon, we saw a whole series of new additions coming to World of Warcraft . The game will be developed over the next few years and will invite the community to a series of new adventures – the developers believe in the project and have great hopes for its expansion.
Holly Longdale, vice president and executive producer of World of Warcraft, admitted during an interview for GamesRadar that her team is “all the time” talking about porting WOW to consoles.
This is a complicated question. For console audiences, affordability will likely be different.
However, players should not count on a quick announcement, as the team responsible for World of Warcraft has “a lot on their plate” now, but the words spoken by Longdale have stimulated the community, which believes that WOW may come to Xbox.
Right now we are focusing on the Worldsoul Saga. But if that happens, we will re-examine the matter, although we have enough on our plate right now. We have these three expansions and we are very excited about them. But yes, of course. It would be very disingenuous to say that we are not… of course we talk about it. Now we are Microsoft.
Thanks to the acquisition of Activision Blizzard for almost $69 billion, brands such as Warcraft, Diablo and Call of Duty are now treated as first-party titles of the Xbox manufacturer.
Making World of Warcraft available on Xboxes would undoubtedly be a big event, and it is therefore unknown whether Microsoft would agree to release the game on PlayStation hardware.
