The game hasn’t been openly reviewed or talked about since it was first disclosed in July with confirmation that it’s in pre-production, but it appears to have come a long way in the development process, as the Xbox boss implies.
Phil Spencer, Xbox’s Head of Marketing, stated in a recent interview that he is very pleased about the changes that the Undead Labs team is making to Part 3, and went on to say:
Maybe this isn’t a huge surprise to people who know me, but I’m a big fan of State of Decay 2, and as for the third installment, I’m really excited about some of the improvements the team has made. We haven’t reviewed much but it’s a game I really enjoy, especially since I love co-op games, love to build and collect resources, and I’m really excited about the direction the studio is taking with the upcoming project.
According to information published by the leaker klobrille via his personal account on Twitter, the studio Undead Labs recently received a new member, as the biography of developer Mitri Van confirms his joining the developer of State of Decay 3, after working for more than two decades at the Volition studio, specifically since 1999, during which time he participated in many of the team’s previous projects including Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third and the upcoming Saints Row reboot in 2022, where he served as Artistic Director for those projects.
