This June will see the return of E3 to Los Angeles, and Microsoft has now formally announced that Xbox will not be attending with a booth on the exhibition floor.
An Xbox representative told IGN in a statement that the firm will co-stream its June 11 Xbox Games Showcase as a part of the digital portion of E3 2023. Xbox stated that it “will not be on the E3 show floor,” though.
All of this is predictable because it was previously rumored that Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo would not be participating in E3 2023 in any official capacity.
IGN stated that E3 2023 participation “continues to be unclear.” According to the publication, “many publishers are unsure who will be participating in the event.”
Unidentified “AAA firms,” according to E3’s new organizer ReedPop, have been confirmed to attend the event.
According to ReedPop, the whole list of exhibitors will be revealed in the weeks leading up to the exhibition, giving participating businesses time to make their own private announcements.
Xbox is a huge supporter of E3 as an event, despite Microsoft not being formally engaged with it through a presence on the exhibition floor for E3 2023. Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Games, said to IGN, “We are doing everything we can to assist make E3 successful.”
This year’s Xbox Games Showcase from Microsoft is scheduled for Sunday, June 11, and it will be followed by a Starfield-only event. The game will now be released in September 2023 after recently experiencing yet another delay.
This June, E3 2023 will return to the Los Angeles Convention Center and begin on June 13. Several options for both regular attendees and corporate partners will be available during the event.
